Following the huge success of movie adaptations of 80s and 90s popular cartoon shows including, “Transformers,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “G.I. Joe” comes “Thundecats” the movie?
While there hasn’t been an official confirmation about the said project, Variety confirmed that award-winning video game director Jerry O’Flaherty is actually in negotiations to helm the “Thundercats” under Warner Bros.
“It feels like a natural thing for me to step into,” O’Faherty said of the “Thundercats” project. “Games have come so far now. The last four years of my life have been about bringing the energy of filmmaking into the videogame experience.”
However, details about the said project became really limited, but with the recent development it seems like “Thundercats” movie is indeed moving forward.
In a previous interview, “X-Men Days of Future Past” actor James McAvoy confessed that he’s been lemming to play a role in the movie if it’ll ever go in production.
“I would love to see a Thundercats movie but it’s never going to happen,” McAvoy admitted in an interview, which can be viewed here. “Lion-O is something great for any actor out there”
Meanwhile, “The Theory of Everything” star Eddie Redmayne, also expressed his interest to take on a role for a “Thundercats” movie.
